Ego License Agreement

Effective October 25, 2026

This agreement is between you and High Vibe Studio Inc. ("High Vibe Studio", "we", "us"). It covers the Ego app for Mac, its updates, and the ego.highvibe.studio website (together, "Ego"). By installing or using Ego, or by accepting this agreement in the app, you agree to it. If you don't agree, don't use Ego.

1. What Ego is

Ego is an app that runs on your Mac. It connects to accounts you choose — such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Signal and Notion — and lets an AI assistant you use, such as Claude, read and act on them through tools you control. Ego does not include an AI model, and we do not run servers that receive your data. The Privacy Policy explains how Ego handles your information and is part of this agreement.

2. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Ego while you have an active subscription (section 3), on Macs you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. Ego is licensed, not sold; we keep all rights not granted here.

3. Subscription and payment

Using Ego requires a subscription: US$9 a month or US$90 a year, plus any sales tax or VAT shown at checkout.

Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar") sells Ego subscriptions as our authorized reseller and merchant of record. You buy from Polar, which takes your payment, charges and pays the tax, and sends your receipts under its buyer terms; this agreement still governs your use of Ego.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Polar's customer portal at polar.sh/high-vibe-studio/portal; Ego keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. Fees for periods that have already passed are not refundable, except where the law requires it or Polar's refund policy allows it; nothing here limits your rights as a consumer.

Ego checks your subscription with Polar from your Mac. When it ends, Ego stops answering your AI assistant; what Ego stored on your Mac stays there until you delete it. If Ego cannot reach Polar, it keeps working for up to seven days.

We may change the price. A new price applies to you from the first billing period after we tell you about it, and you can cancel before then.

4. What you may not do

You may not: (a) copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute Ego; (b) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law allows this despite this restriction; (c) remove its notices or circumvent its safeguards, such as the switches that keep sending off; (d) use it to reach accounts or data you are not authorized to access; or (e) use it to break the law or infringe the rights of others, including by sending spam.

5. Your accounts and other companies' services

Ego works with services run by others, including Google, Signal, Notion and Anthropic. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them, and you are responsible for following them. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. In particular:

6. AI assistants act for you

When you connect Ego to an AI assistant, that assistant can read the data Ego exposes and, where you allow it, take actions: mark mail read, archive or label it, write drafts, create and update tasks, and — only after you turn sending on for a service — send email or messages. You are responsible for what is done through your accounts, including what an assistant does at your request. AI output can be wrong; review it before relying on it.

7. Updates

We may release updates that change, add or remove features. Some updates may be needed to keep Ego working with the services it connects to. Ego checks for updates and installs them automatically, without asking each time; by using Ego you agree to receive them.

8. Open-source components

Ego includes open-source software that is licensed under its own terms. Those terms govern those components, and nothing in this agreement limits your rights under them.

9. Feedback

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

10. No warranty

EGO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT EGO WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT IT WILL NOT MISREAD, MISFILE OR LOSE DATA.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, HIGH VIBE STUDIO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, ACCOUNTS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO EGO — INCLUDING ACTIONS TAKEN THROUGH EGO BY YOU OR BY AN AI ASSISTANT, AND ANY RESTRICTION OF YOUR ACCOUNTS BY ANOTHER COMPANY'S SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO EGO IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF WHAT YOU PAID FOR EGO IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Ending this agreement

You may end this agreement at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting Ego and its data. We may end your license if you breach this agreement. Sections 4 and 9 through 14 survive its end.

13. Law and disputes

California law governs this agreement, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts in Los Angeles County, California, have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about it, and you and we consent to them. If you are a consumer whose local law gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing here takes that right away.

14. The whole agreement

This agreement and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about Ego. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a part, we have not waived it.

15. Changes

We may update this agreement. When we do, we will change the date above, and Ego will ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
